Question: What does 'Scan Failed' mean?

When converting a DVD into a single AVI file, the program says something like 'Scan Failed'. What does this mean?

Answer:

Download DivX 5 encoder from the following url:
http://www.moomasoft.com/codec/DivX521XP2K.exe
Then run DVD Ripper Wizard and choose DivX 5 in Compressor to compress.
DVD Ripper saves each Chapter into a .mpg file, which is the raw file on the disk with high quality.
Finally, choose the encoder "XVid Mpeg4 Codec" to convert it into .avi.
